Houston Garbage, Recycling & Heavy Trash Schedule

Collection information varies by address. CurbCalendar uses official City address and solid-waste GIS data and withholds schedule claims when the evidence is ambiguous.

CurbCalendar requires one exact official City address point and an unambiguous City service polygon before showing a service day.

2,345verified recycling service areas

Garbage pickup

The City of Houston states curbside garbage is collected weekly on an assigned day. CurbCalendar shows the weekday only when the exact official address point intersects one unambiguous trash polygon and normalized evidence agrees.

Recycling pickup

Houston publishes recycling every other week on the same service weekday as garbage. City GIS uses A/B labels. CurbCalendar preserves that official label but does not convert it into future A/B dates unless an official date anchor is independently verified.

Heavy trash

Houston publishes an assigned heavy-trash day and states the service is collected every other month. The route polygon alone is not treated as proof of which alternating month applies, so CurbCalendar does not invent a next heavy-trash date.

Holiday changes

Holiday impacts are jurisdiction-specific. CurbCalendar uses explicit City of Houston holiday schedules or notices when available and does not apply a generic U.S. holiday shift rule.
